The Department of Obstetrics&Gynecology at Süleyman Demirel University was founded concurrently with the foundation of the University dating back to early 1990s. The supreme goal of the Department has always been to be by far the best in training, research and patient care among peer universities.

Divisions

General Obstetrics and Gynecology

The General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division at the Süleyman Demirel University Research and Application Hospital aims to provide the highest quality health care for women. Our faculty offer a broad range of services both in the outpatient clinic or in the inpatient ward. Many problems can be solved by medication in outpatient settings. When surgery is needed, our faculty offer contemporary approaches including laparoscopic minimally invasive techniques minding colloboration and team spirit.

Gynecologic Oncology

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology gives service as a referral center for all kinds of gynecological malignancies. Our faculty work together with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and pathologists.

Maternal Fetal Medicine

The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) serves as a major regional referral center. Most of the specialized doctors and medical practitioners refer their patients to our MFM for seeking advanced medical diagnosis and care. Our Faculty deal with complicated cases succesfully. They perform antenatal testing, screening sonogram with 2-D and 3-D modalities, and ultrasound-guided procedures. Invasive procedures including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling and umbilical cord blood sampling are performed widely in the Division.

Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is a major referral center both locally and nationally. It also gets a gradual reputation abroad. Our Division members work in such areas as microsurgical techniques, laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Our in vitro fertilization (IVF) center provides infertile couples with  safe, economic and successful outcomes. IVF cyle costs are very reasonable compared with most of the domestic and outer centers. Our Faculty and laboratory Staff perform oocyte pick-up, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), embryo culture and embryo transfer successfully.

Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

The Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery is another successful center at our University Hospital. We treat a variety of diseases including: stress urinary incontinance, overactive bladder, mixt incontinence, and genital organ prolapse with novel methods.

 

Education

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has both a residency and fellowship training programs. The residency program is four years in length. Rotations include general surgery, urology, pathology and anesthesia. Our Faculty encourage the residents in academic research studies and present their results in national congresses.
